The "hiding among civilians" myth

Israel claims it's justified in bombing civilians because Hezbollah mingles with them. In fact, the militant group doesn't trust its civilians and stays as far away from them as possible.

Why is "hiding among civilians" in quotation marks? Who actually said that?

HA is not "hiding among civilians"--they place supportive infrastructure among civilians. Among the components of this supportive infrastructure is rocket launchers.

Such as was destroyed in Qana, and which inevitably killed civilians.

It's the title of the article that I linked to.... as you can see, if you click on the link.
I don't know why it's in quotation marks. I would assume it's in quotation marks, because it paraphrases a phrase/accusation frequently used by the Israelis. E-mail the author.

I brought that up because I think the premise of the article is specious. You linked to it because you think the article makes a good point.

Perhaps HA when actually challenged to a real fight isn't "hiding among civilians." But the very nature of their existence is to camouflage an elaborate network of rocket launchers among civilians. Geddit?

Now, how *did* HA accumulate 15,000 rockets under the noses of the Lebanese government?

Perhaps Israel, when challenged, would go in with the same weaponry as HA and we'll see who wants it more, instead of bombing from the safety of the air...

Is the premise of the article any more specious than using the kidnapping of soldiers as a pretext to destroy a country? By your logic, it makes perfect sense for the Palestinians to do what they do. After all, among the 7 people killed when they go on a suicide mission, might be one soldier...

Well, let's analyze that. The Israelis should launch missile barrages at Lebanese civilian targets, as HA has launched against Israel.

Perhaps you should rethink that logic.

Is Hizbully a myth? Are they on the open battlefield? No, they are conducting a guerilla war. Good for them, fewer of them will die that way, but bad for the Lebanese who aren't supportive of Hizbully, more of them will die shielding the Hizbullies.

If you believe Israel actually wants to kill civilians and not NaziR'Allah, then how different are you from the ignorant and hateful Hizbullies?
